Amazing copy and paste here:

"Modern automotive finished leather upholstery used by 95% of OEM is a multi strata covering over the leather hide; pigmentation (colour) and an abrasion resistant urethane. Finished leather s only requirement is to be kept clean and protected, urethane doesn’t require conditioning"

So you just got the gliptone conditioner and not cleaner then.

TBF you're right, you don't need to condition modern leather as it's painted / sealed so doesn't absorb the conditioner, it just sits on the surface.

People like the smell of it, but tbh I don't use a conditioner unless it's on old leather these days, I seal it instead with G-Techniq L1

Will see how I get on with it. I'd rather take advice from John or rich tbh.

You really are a proper sulky little girl, this isn't primary school anymore.

I may be deemed a bit spammy but would rather that than be seen to act the way you do sometimes.

Btw it could be your jackamo jeans staining your seats.

i used it aswell. doesn't smell the nicest ever but does the job and shifts the dirt well.

obviously mine don't show how good it is as much as mine are black leather, but you can tell the difference with the before pic having shiny leather and the afters looking more matte.

quote:

used the nic barnes special on my seats today. can't believe how much crap came off them they are a nice matt finish now, whereas before they were shiny.

toothbrush was essential.

shiny:

cleaned:

definitely recommend it. cost me less than a tenner for both the cleaner and conditioner.

hey, gotta give john respect and props for informing me about it. worked incredibly well on my grey leather for the price. brush is the key to it though, apply, attack with brush and you can see it coming off as you swipe.

ken what you say about the smell. i bought a selection of black ice air fresheners to take it away. and a seat cover to save it.

Any proper ways on using this? I am using it on a very soft leathered Lexus LS430 and then a GS300 sport so dont wanna fook things up so to speak!

I bought the kit with an applicator, a cloth and a nail brush

Leather is pretty hard wearing really, people wet sand it sometimes as well.

The main thing is keeping it clean and not leaving a load of residue (too much protector/conditioner) on the seat afterwards as that will just sit in the crack and wrinkles and just attract dirt.

Like BarneStormer says, using a brush with the cleaner is the key to getting rid of the dirt that matters and sits in the tiny cracks

foam it up with the brush, wipe it off with a damp sponge, then dry it.

Up to you if you want to apply conditioner, or you could just give it a quick clean each week or whenever you wash the car.
