Simon Cowell's a damn lucky bugger. Any ideas on how much money he earns for doing that show?

personal preference. no one forces you to watch it.
i personally find it very entertaining. you do get some idiots on there but it's meant to be funny, not serious steve.

I've never really watched BGT in the past bar the year with the trials rider in it but this year has been quite entertaining-not fussed about singers and songwriters as there are already too many outlets for them but acts like the Pudsey the dog and the guy with the hoop would never normally get the appreciation they deserve.

Agree with this Man, have been watching this with the gfriend and we have a good laugh over it.
Some of the auditions were comedy gold.
The level of talent this year was very high and there were some pretty decent acts IMHO.
It's a bit of light hearted entertainment, as Ben says not meant to be taken too seriously.
As for being Gay if you watch it

That group of lads as well, the lovable rogues i think?
Lots of singers doing original material this year and not just covers which to me distinguished BGT from the various singing shows.

I enjoyed it this year, still annoys me how much singers get through when there are plenty of more original talents that get voted out

Depends on your definition of deserve tbh. I thought dog tricks were reserved for village fetes?
The stat about a 6th of the nation watching it is rather scary tbh.
