Shit sentence, no excuse for driving with no licence, it's common knowledge you need one.

thoughts with your family and don't let Dickhead-Doyle's sentence anger you and put a shade on your memories of your brother and the punishment the guy got from taking him from you, remember you had closure which some people never actually get. Doyle's a dick, Your brother was (presumably) not.

I'm no way advocating what the guy did, ie driving without a licence, and it is unfair that he should just choose not to have one, but lets face it, in regards to driver skill etc you do 90% of learning to drive once you pass!

More importantly, sorry for your loss John, I know my dad has been involved in a car accident where the other party died (skidded on ice into my dad's car) and he has never spoken about it, we only know as my brother found a report on it once, so it can't be easy for anyone.

Sounds like it was an accident caused by misjudging how close the bike was to the car before turning off. If the driver had a licence and insurance i think he would have gotten off with little to nothing.

First of all, im very sorry to hear of your loss. I just want to say you have a very mature attitude you have towards this obviously poor sentence. Alot of people would be going daft but at the end of the day, it's done, and you can now move on and live your life as normally as you can.

My ex was severely brain damaged after a car accident where she hit a van head on. The police investigation showed that he was at least 1 metre over the white line and had been on his phone around the time of the accident (can't tell if he was at the time of impact) and he got let away scot free.

Just have to move on and swallow it!

She's still in hospital and needs care 24/7. Severely brain damaged and will never be able to be without full time care. Probably the worst possible outcome tbh.

do you ever visit her still? bet it breaks your heart inside

that is worse than losing her.

ifmy bro had survived he would most likely be like that

I've just last week visited her parents again for the first time in a long time. Following court cases etc it all got too much for me and I couldn't face seeing her that way anymore. Seeing her stressing from seeing me in bits made it worse and i dont want to upset her at all. I'm now working my way back up to visiting her and keeping in touch. Her family are spot on and appreciated my reasons and have been first class. I still get my moments where i feel guilt and sadness but you have to deal with it!

I can't imagine losing my brother. I'd feel lost.

Last time I went to see her yes, and that was a long time ago. She's now even more alert and can point and even laugh. She has just been given a computer which she can use her eyes to open and play music etc. This is all good but worries the hell out of me incase she gets stressed when she sees me.

Must be awful seeing her like that. Was u Together when it happened? I think death is the better outcome compared to severe injury. Does she know about much? Like that u used to be together ? Etc?
