Slight difference though, If a car smashed into your rear quarter panel you wont superman through the wind screen. If you smashed into a tree head on with no belt on theres a higher chance youll do more damage to yourself than wearing a belt, whether or not the car has a high or low safety rating.
Common sense really.

I'm trying to wear mine each time now. Sometimes I don't even realise. Even with the beeping.
It's hard to get back into the habit.

Years ago I used to work with a chav girl with big tits.
Anyway, she refused to ever put her seatbelt on whenever she drove as she reckoned it would be far safer in a crash not to have your belt on...

I even do it then.
Feels weird to not have one on and I certainly wouldn't feel in control of a car driving without one, same as if you brake while sliding the seat and your bodyweight adjusts your inputs.

Same here.
I once got pulled in a wee village and I thought it was a random tyre check etc. He said that his colleague at the entrance to the village spotted me not wearing my seatbelt
I tried not to talk to the copper like a twat, but I hated being called a liar - it really really angered me. I ended up paying the £30 anyway as I was scared of protesting and costing me even more...
He radio'd his colleague asking to confirm so I could hear it, and he claimed that a young lad (check) in a black seat ibiza (check) was wearing a blue shirt and driving without a seatbelt... me and the copper looked at each other and I laughed - because I was wearing a red and beige hoodie . Copper said "oh it's sometimes hard to see through the slightly tinted glass in the bright sun", but my argument that the seatbelt may also be hard to see was thrown right out
Looking back, I was probably going a bit too fast for the country lane heading into the village so the car was probably being a bit noisy... but I wasn't breaking any speed limits as far as the coppers could prove - so I guess this was a cheeky/easy bollocking for me.

One of my best mates died from not wearing a seatbelt and he would be here today if he did. Mine is always on.
