i would recomend http://www.hozelock.com/watering/garden-pumps/water-butt-pump.html

I have a few b&q own brand instock from a clearence last year, ideal for connecting the butt to the washer.

Only thing is make sure the water from the butt is filtered, after a dry spell you end up with loads of sand / clay in the water from the gutters.

I tried out my ancient Karcher on my water-butt last night and it works like a charm! I cleaned three of our cars with it and it didnt even use a quarter of the 210 litre butt! And having the butt so close to the front of the house meant it was much easier to set everything up.

Looks like the cars will be getting washed more offten

I bet you'd get some funny looks washing your car with a pressure washer during a hose pipe ban with a hose connected to a water butt in your back garden.

Pressure washer apparently uses less water than an open hose.

I was shocked to see how little water it uses If I had to use the same water in buckets there would be no way I could clean the car.

It can use less but it also can use a lot more as you will often clean stuff with a pressure washer you wouldn't really bother with on a normal hose i.e. getting rid of all the stuck on under-arch etc. If you spend time thoroughly washing your car you can still go through quite a lot of water.

When I had my 30L tub connected up mine with hot water I could go through multiple full tubs if i really want to give it a full on foam, wash, under arch, under sills etc.

Next thing to do Davey is hook all the bogs up in your house to a water butt for ultimate money/water savings

Wouldn't the piss leave deposits on your paintwork when washing the car?
