Gaz that was my concern with black, scrub that then
Hmm gunmetal, difficult to picture it. I might play it safe and stick with sliver.
Any suggestions on a nice bright silver to aim for? From what I have seen the OEM colour is a bit dull.

fuck a duck, the black actually looks quite good.
Black goes well with le mans blue and if I go gloss block will match the shadowline trim and my new kidney grills.

Lighter colours with velvet blue, black totally fucks the contrast.
Ferrari 599 wheels. That's the colour you want

Yes that's what I was meaning, the E38 versions do sit a lot nicer.

And yes, silver please or something fairly light.
Black just makes them look like normal wheels, no point going for the drop and small tyres.

Style 32's suit nearly all BMW's. I run them on my e36 but in 17" variant and with spacers, but I am 'scene'
I'd go for a bright silver on your car. Black wheels wouldn't look as good against the blue imo.

That red one does look good though. Don't usually like those alpina style wheels but they look ace with the decent dish on there.

I reckon you'd get away with 225s as iirc that chap has spaced them too? I.m running 265s of 10 wide and was going with going down to 245s as tires are fecking criminal!
I was talking to my bro about a 330/530i as I think they have finally hit their bottom and good ones are seriously hard to find!

The guy with the grey 330 above is not running spaces but on that forum I think another chap has got away with a 235/35
I will get arches rolled and get them fitted with 215's all round and then go from there.

215s are fine on a 9j, Ive got 215s on mine on my 9js, and on my other rims ive got 245s on 12js.
Oh and dont do them black they just look cheap in shiny black, either flat black or a lighter colour tbh.
Also them wheels were a serious bargain and are awesome.

Hyper silver is bloody bright. Don't do black tho it hides the design of the alloys and you have to keep the tyres constantly slicked or they will go that shitty grey colour.

330s come with 255s on the back. There's no way you would want to be running 215s or whatever is being talked about in here.

exactly where i was going!
The red one does look good but 255 to a 215 does not sound good at all, and especially with what, 220+ ft lbs torque?

I ran 225/40 as a winter tyre on the rear and could press on pretty well even in bad weather.
That sizing was Continentals recommendation as well (225 all round, non staggered for winter tyres).
Another guy on the bimmer forums is running a 235/35 I have some 215/40's to fit as a trial. I will see what clearance I have after the arches are rolled.

Adam, dont forget this is not a Mid engined, RWD, turbo car its a lazy barge with a very lazy power delivery.
Even with DSC and TC off its hard to get it to misbehave!

I agree with you on that seth. My 330 will not skip out, no matter how hard you floor it. The lowest tyre i would want to go to would be a 235. Surely a 215 would look absolutely toss from the back end? I love the rear of my car with the massive tyres.
I thought your car looked great as it is
