Like LeeM most my relationships have been with people I already knew, or just evolved from a one night thing.
A date in my eyes is meeting up to do something together in order to get to know each other better. Whether it's a meal, walk along the beach lol. Whatever...

Tbh never really been on any "dates"
I was 18 when met the missus and back then we used to meet up as a big group of male/female friends on a Friday night and go on the lash so not really date!
I think you only eally start "dating" properly once you get to early/mid 20's and are single?

29, been on loads. Can't understand how you haven't if you've ever had a girlfriend. Don't get me wrong, met loads of girls on nights out, but still end up taking them out another day if they were worth the effort

I took the town bike on a date once, first thing she said when she got in the car was 'my mate went back to a random guys house last night and got shagged up the arse....then followed through on his new rug'. Right there and then I had a twinge down South.

With my ex we used to do something every Sunday - Walks, Picnic, Cinema, Bowling, Skating etc, and ussually go for a meal one or 2 nights each week. I'd classify them as dates as we weren't living together and the whole point of it was to get to know each other more. 2 and half years, average of 3 times a week or there abouts
With my current gf its different, put the effort in for the first few months until I realized she wasn't an attention craving whore like my ex and just got on with our lives.

The current missus and I have a 'date' once a month or so. Not just a meal out but a full day of doing stuff, just the two of us, no other friends/couples/family. Last one was going to Chatsworth for the day and then a country road blast.
Never did that with the ex and things got stale; doing things togetehr with the current missus seems to keep the 'spark' alive
