Dont see why so many people are getting there pants in a twist.
It's car modifying fucksake, Valver/XE/Redtop is probably the most iconic Vauxhall engine to have produced, i'd probably opt for an XE over most modern equivelant engines.
Call me old fashioned, i just prefer the simplicity and the fact you can pan its cunt in from outset, it'll never give you trouble, and it'll always have done 80k regardless.
None of this OMG i've done 72k must remove engine and replace the timing belt pish.

Wonder how he's getting on with his Mk3 Astra Gsi LET that he was converting to 4wd. Havn't checked his projects in a while.
