the two i remember the most were a rover 25 in british racing green. wasn't too bad condition, woman seemed a little bit slow but nice enough, her offer was around £1100. i paid her just over £200. that was the last car i bought, couldn't do that again. The biggest chip in cash was a brand new 59 plate range rover westminster with 600 miles on the clock. it was brand new and literally perfect. the guy was offered £47200 and i gave him £40000 with my excuse being its too new for us to sell so will be sitting for a while.

That RR was surely stolen, why would someone loose 15k+ on a 600 mile car!! They would sell it back to dealer surely??

Offer for my 6 Month old 318I with 4k miles (rrp 28k) is £16,000. Think I'd rather set it on fire and claim the insurance

guy was minted, bought it for his wife, gave it to her and "it's too big was her reply". Used that as my bartering tool. Also pretty much make up the prices yourself. i used to have a look at the car and then proper low ball them. They would obviously decline so i would say "well the computer has said the maximum i can pay is x based on the condition" blame it on the pc and that way i remain their mate trying to help them get the best deal possible. Fucking loved the money but hated the job with a passion

Seems mental. Anyone I know with money is too tight to loose any money that easy. Guy must have been a idiot!

I couldnt do it for a job, im way too honest. Id last about a day and be telling folk where to go to get the most for there car would feel like praying on the disadvantaged either mentally/elderly/financially etc whatever! Wouldnt be a rewarding job at all! Good on you for jacking it in.

I say £3500-£3800 they will say. Not that I've seen your car.

Not sure why people moan about the company though, not like they hold a gun to your head and force you to sell the car.

Your asking them how much theyd buy your car for, the say a figure without seeing it, change the figure once it's been seen, all you have to do is say no.

I got a 4 door saloon in preparation of the pregnancy & regret it already & the baby isnt even here yet! Too small, wish i'd got an estate car minimum.

Actually wish i'd got a Disco or similar so I can just lift the pram unfolded into the back.

Whatever you go for try the pram in the back before you buy it.

I seriously dont know how they survive!? I dont think I know a single person that would take their pitiful offers. Yet there on prime time TV, sponsoring premiership teams etc.

I find it amazing really that nothing short of taking advantage of the disadvantaged goes on so freely. Should be illegal really as anyone that deals with them is obviously thick / desperate

Tell you now CRV's meant to make a great family car. Bloke I work with sold his Q7 and got one & said its much better for what he needs. I'd have one. Golfs going to be a good car but might be a squeeze.

Im planning a holiday for next year, just packing up the car and driving somewhere. However once car seat, pram base, and pram body (will need to go on back seat as boots too small), other baby stuff etc there will be no space for luggage. Im actually looking at a roof box for such times we decide to leave the house for more than a few hours!!

I think it is pretty much just thick or desperate people, like the same with these payday loans etc.

P.S you know your getting old when your looking at a roof box

Just got back from the inspection.
The chap was extremely friendly and totally not what i expected from all the reviews....anyway
The online offer was 4810 and minus a few quid for the scuffs on the alloys (my fault, living on busy road) and some minor scratches on the nearside sideskirt (from snow last year) the final offer was 4410 which i thought was v reasonable. I havent accepted yet as my finance company are closed on a Sunday. Its alot more than i thought and im giving it serious thought..

just thought u all might like to know

As said depends on the px price, but that's not far from the valuation. If £4810 was acceptable then 10% less isn't bad.

Really?

Me and the missus have 15 month old and we have a 5dr 51 plate audi a3 and never felt we needed more space really. Pram and shopping etc always fits in without any issues. Weve had the car since he was born also

I've not once thought I must buy an estate car

Yip with the pram we got the chassis just fits in the boot & the body has to go on the back seat along with the car seat. If we went away say for a weekend there would be nowhere to fit our luggage once all the baby stuff is packed in. Obviously this will get easier as we move to a push chair but for now its going to be an absolute chew. The baby asides the 3 series saloon rear seats dont even fold down. I struggled to get a pair of curtain poles home at the weekend. Totally useless car!!
