That's nice I like it, just the millage that puts me off well not puts me off but I'd ideally like a lot lower mileage SRI or 888 if I found one although I'd guess it'll be priced a lot higher

Take the plastic engine cover off and have a look down in the engine, your looking for a long shiney metal rod. make sure its connected. Thats the swirl flap rod.

Do a pedal test and see if any error codes pop up.

What SMC said or look round the back and see if theres a piezburg sticker your hoping for it to say 7.00373.12.0. Which means its had the modified manifold on it reducing the swirl flap issue.

Plenty about for £7-7.5k so shouldn't be too hard to find one, certainly a big change coming from a Corsa B - there's a massive reduction in the amount you can see (no doubt due to safety laws and making the pillars huge amongst other things)

Ok a quick question, looking at a few of these an spotted one I like, been and had a look and seems a very nice example. How ever it's covered in swirl marks. Now I spotted a machine polisher and bottles of G3, so my question is if the car has had some one machine polish it (don't think it had as is covered in swirl marks) is there any tale tale marks or things to look out for to make sure the paint hasn't been ruined? The swirl marks look like poor washing eg polish car wash ect

Shouldn't let it worry you, any car you buy could catastrophically fail 5 miles down the road, such as a dodgy, supposedly better quality, A3. It could also go the rest of it's life needing only wear and tear items.

this is my thought they have been looking for months for the spec I'm after, loads private though, I'm not going to let it worry me to much though as every car has a fault that every one knows and raves about plus the £1k extra you lay to go through network q would cover the repair if you bought private I guess
