Had a spare hour last night so got the inlet cleaned up and painted, I'm pretty anal like that, I like things to be clean and whilst it's all stripped it may as well get done now

Block is ready for the head now, bores got cleaned up etc. Nice and shiny.

Just rubbed it down, primered then 2 coats of silver. It was a horrible grey and rusty orange colour before.

Just got the 1.0 monster to the unit ready to take the engine out. A few bits of surface rust here and there; Bonnet, bit at bottom of passenger door and one small bit on drivers. Nothing too major. It's a V reg Corsa at the end of the day not bad for £80 though.

So the engine got ripped out of the 1.0 today, engine bay is in really good condition which is good. A bit of surface rust but the plan was always to give it a tidy up before the new engine goes in. Pictures came out a little darker than expected

Car is now in its new home until the conversion is done

Had a bit of spare time after work again so did a bit more cleaning, throttle body was gunged up and the top hat was all rusty/discoloured so stripped that down and give it all a good clean.

Before

After

A mates mate moved to Australia and asked him to scrap it for him, I noticed it one day sat in his drive and asked if he would sell it. 80 was the agreed price

2 1/4 BTB manifold and a centre section being picked up next week. I'll give it a clean up then wrap the manifold.

Carbon fibre L piece arrived today, better condition than what I though actually. Think I'll paint the rocker cover and timing belt casing anthracite.

I still regret selling that 106 but as it was my daily it just wasnt practical enough, using it all through the bad winter of 2010 really took its toll on me and the car plus the GF lives in Glasgow and I'm through there a few times a week so it's not ideal for that either.
