Shell is right, Manuka Honey is really good for coughs and colds. The bees that make it feed off the tea tree plant which is natures antiseptic.

I had the same cough over Christmas, I used Lemsip Cough Max and kept having a spoonful of Manuka honey. It went after about a week.
