Having the blowers on cools the engine down.

Puma won't open the heater matrix until its up to temp.

Not sure about the Alfa. But if you want it to warm up quicker, blowers lower will help.

I know, hence why I drive along with my windscreen all steamed up every morning until I've got 90 degrees on the gauge, but, even in minus temps when I put the blower on it starts to drop again.

About 3 minutes of driving and the TT is up to temp and stays there.

Petrols normally heat up much quicker, as do older engines. Just converting your petrol straight into heat.

1.6 308 59 plate is warm after 5 minutes and stays warm. Generally leave climate on all the time as it makes no difference to the fuel consumption.

11 plate Fiesta 1.25 i had used to lose heat when it was cold and sat at lights etc.

My Punto took ages to warm up and on cold days the oil temp would go down if had the heading turned on. Seeing as it's virtually the same car I guess it's the same issue - partially cover the radiator grill to fix.

I just keep the blower speed on 1, and the temp on hot, with it blowing on the windscreen. Cpl of minutes later i change it to heat inside the car, but then im at work. Damn, can't win. Sometime's i will sit outside at home for a cpl of minutes and let it heat up a bit. But that depends if ive got a spare few minutes, which is pretty rare.

Anyways, worst car ive had was the last. MG ZR. Took about 10 mins for the gauge to even move off the bottom, and a good few minutes before it started blowing hot air.

Octavia is very slow compared to the A4.

Think the A4 had an aux heater though?? Not sure.

Leave mine on 22 degrees automatic all year round, gets warm after about 5 minutes in winter

Noway, cars on our estate (yes, in Windsor) have been stolen warming up. Plus, it doesn't really help, engine needs to be under load. I'm going to try covering the bottom grills with something I think.

But anything that will restrict the airflow over the radiator will help. You see cabbies with boards of wood stuck to the front of their black cabs

My punto takes ages to warm up but once its warm its warm.

guage never ever moves from bang on half way, wether its a red hot summers day or a freezing winter night on the motorway its always dead centre

my van takes a while to warm up too, cab warms up quick though cause I have a full bulkhead, diesels take longer to warm up cause they are more efficient

Depends if the radiator is isolated when its cold, most will be I think.

See once the Alfa is warm, unless I'm doing 40+ the gauge drops when I'm using the heater, on auto, 24 degrees

isnt the thermostat there for this reason though? on my dads old doblo, if you put the heater on full the temp would go right to the bottom, the stat was deffo fucked on that though
