Don't like screws through plates.

Used sticky pads for nearly 8 years, and no one has pinched them, I imagine my area to be worse than yours too

Think mine were about £12 or something. I wanted plain ones and they're ideal. Stuck on too and have had no problems.

I would actually say that sticky pads are safer and would make the plates harder to steal than plates that are screwed on.

The number plate pads i get from local motor factors, once they are on and stuck to the car, they ain't budging without at least snapping the plate.

Steer clear of the 'Pads' they don't tend to last. This is coming from someone who's fitted hundreds of plates BTW

I reckon it's harder to rip off the plates with good sticky pads than it is to unscrew the screws

Unless you think they're going to sneak about with a heatgun and some fishing line.

I knew there was a 'good' make of them but couldn't think of it! Majority of pads are rubbish though an can't handle getting wet

Picked some of that up in Halfords yesterday actually!!

Ive used pads before and they get wet and fail. Hence the plates being drilled.

Used the proper foam tape stuff and it will last forever.

I'm not sure what you do to your cars, but my car has been left out all winter and the foam pads took an hour to remove from the plate and bodywork.

Maybe you're not applying them correctly? Without a hairdryer heating them up, the pads/tape are useless.

I used the tape which came with my plates (fancyplates website). My plates get blasted with a pressure washer every weekend and they're still on solid as concrete.

Infact, I'm really not looking forward to the day I need to take them off.

Agree with this, never screw any of my numberplates, looks much cleaner.

I do tend to put them on with a heat gun though when the bumper is curved like the beemer.
