If the phone gets blocked and you can prove you used it for a while first, you contact the network who'll unblock it and go after the original owner for fraud. In my experience anyway

Get people in my shop every week because they have bought phones off facebook/gumtree etc and a few weeks later they get blocked. fuck all you can do about it. most of the time you dont know where they live or the number they gave you(usually PAYG) is now dead

my cousins girlfriend had this happen. they (orange) could see she had been using it for weeks so they unblocked it.

No chance, for a start the S3 is better than the 4s anyway, and as already said, the amount of things that could go wrong for you it's not even worth considering
