I like mine, the seats and driving position are great. They have an lovely gearbox and are fairly quick. They are shit on fuel but if you want decent mpg just stick it in 6th and sit behind a lorry.

The engines are designed to be rev'd. Imo they are better than your standard vvt engine pish. Got to remember, this is a na car not a turbo. Compare it to other na cars in the same category and youll struggle to find a better car all round car.
Unless youve actually owned one, you cant be making up facts.

John-d owned one for 6 months mate, they are great cars like i said, but they do require screwing to get anywhere and thus drink fuel

I have owned one, for over a year. Expensive for what it was tbh and like I say was gutless out of vtec. My old xe Corsa was quicker.

What do you expect from a 2L car without a turbo.

I had mine for about 6k miles and averaged 35mpg, with mixed driving. As stated here, though, if you become addicted to vtec expect less than 30 consistently.
Very reliable, solid cars - be wary of second gear when cold (worn synrcho) and knocking from the steering rack. These are both common on this car, though improved in the facelift version. Also, the rear brake calipers have a tendency to seize up, so take a look/listen if you get the chance!
Motorway noise, yes, is ever present but the B road performance makes up for it.
Seats are great, driving position, gearchange and steering wheel are great and you get decent practicality!

Didnt think £160 for a set of Eibach springs was expensive.
Input to thread -
Good fun to kick the cunt out of, shite on fuel (150-180 miles to a tank, once cleared 200 on a long motorway journey)
Noisy, sound good with the right exhaust/filter.
Would consider another one i guess, prefer my Megane 225.
Get about 100 miles more per tank, also have about 80bhp more.
I'm also £36 a month less to insure it.

ep3s are ok, the k20 engine is good but not great, they are prone for stretched chains and tensioner failure, also bottom end failure due to low oil level, hard driving round corners and track use is a no no without a baffled sump usless ur willing to risk the bottom end, other then that they aint that bad, i wouldnt have one again though tbh just dont feel great off vtec.

Fuck that's bad... how much to fill up? I got about the same range from my Impreza but that cost me £68 from red.

Nothing really to add other then whats been said. its a love hate car. go drive one and make your own mind up :-)
Should get a good one for 3k now days. dont be put off by milage just get a well looked after one. if the oil has been kept topped up the engine is bullet proof. gearbox and steering rack are the only problems that arise on the odd ocasion. you will soon notice if its dud when you test drive.
Get a good one and it will never let you down and be alot of fun.
Ran mine at over 300bhp for over two years now and its not cost be more then oil tyres and brakes
