I think, at this point, they're just stretching it to see how little actual work they can do and still keep the cash flow.
IGN seem to think it might be an homage to a character from their previous game. I don't know which is more lame, that excuse or making an homage to your own fucking game.

See, I wasn't sure whether the disinterest in this release was to do with me (and others) growing up a bit and getting bored of the same old thing. Or whether it's just lost its appeal in general.
To that extent, most people on here have played the last 4 or 5, there's $1 billion worth of people who've only played the last one and are still hooked with the same old thing

MW, world at war and MW2 have been the best so far. Everything after has been the same old shit. didnt stop me playing them but it did stop me from buying them b

I bought the new one tonight even though I know it will be the same old shit with changing a few names of guns and rehashing some maps. Still the best fun you can have on the Xbox tho IMO

Imho, it was MW2 where it all started to go wrong, mainly with lag. Don't remember any lag at all in MW or WaW.
For me, BOps2 is the worst, MW is the best (shame its unplayable now)

I installed this tonight. 4 fucking DVDs! Runs like shit with the default settings. I've tweaked a few things after reading a few articles online. Seems to be better, but I feel a bit cheated. I hope they can patch it to sort the issues. It isn't as though my pc is below spec...it's a beast!
Cod4 and BO2 are my faves

The whole franchise went downhill the minute they started concentrating on consoles rather than the platform that started it all, by far the best releases were United Offensive followed by CoD2, back then the Cod PC community was at it's height gameplay wise. It was brilliant, the maps and mods you could play were amazing. I've still never played a better gametype than BASE on a 128 man server with custom maps. So much fun. Nowadays the only thing that interests me on CoD is HC S&D, it's all I'll play as it involves a bit more thought. The franchise is only going to get worse every year as they will run out of things to implement.

I was playing black ops 1 last night and i shit you not if you killed 2 people in a row and didnt more more than 20ft you just got kicked for camping..
Its one reason i wont buy cod, i cant play how i want without some mupfuck complaining and resulting in me getting banned or kicked..
Guarenteed i can get kicked from a server within 10 5 mins.

Black ops two was far better than black ops one. IMO.
I am loving the new multiplayer. Laying prone is now more realistic not the surfboard effect. There's much more use of height and more "3D" as it where, lends itself well to game play.
It feels like it has finally changed. Only about 3yrs late!
I'm sold.
