You can't hold your breath. The cloth is to hold your mouth and nose open so the water gets poured into you. Your natural gag reflex tells the brain you are drowning. Has nothing at all to do with holding your breath even for a second

Honestly though Steve. That's a weird thing to say
"It can't be that bad" do you really think they would use it as a form of torture if it was just abit un comfy.

It's effective and that's proven. If your ever in a position that this is done to you, we'll you must have pissed somebody off pretty badly so I don't have an issue with it or any sympathy and if its what is required to obtain what is needed then I'm all for it.

I do understand what Steve is saying to an extent. Doesn't seem overly terrifying if you think about the action itself of water being poured on your face with material over it, and i can undersand his desire to find out what the effects are like because of that I.e how can something that doesn't look so intense provide such strong results. Though I do also think Steve maybe stood in the shower with a tee shirt over his head for 10 mins thinking he's SAS material.
