My fcuking air conditioner has broke and I'm far too warm on a night! Had to buy 2 fans to keep us cool and we are having to sleep on the settee as upstairs is warmer than downstairs, (downstairs is currently 29 upstairs is 33deg)

You do know the majority of ac machines reverse for heating ? If you can't be arsed coring a hole out cut a piece of kingspan and wedge it in your open window with a hole the diameter of your machine to shove through . The heat coming off the ac machines will out balance warm air over cool if it isn't ducted out

It works ok, not as good as A/C but a lot cheaper, and it doesn't blow hot air.

or duct it into a roof space, most AC units work on 3-1 ratio for energy in to cool air out. I run mine into. But my air con unit is from work and is oversize at 4.6kW so cools down the room in 20min and will stay cool till morning.

Best thing to do in a couple of weeks when the hot weather has gone is unplug the control board and take thhe thing back so it's served it's purpose and in e end won't cost you anything that's what I'm doing in a few weeks,

I do it all the time tbh
Someone I know does it with clothes keeps new clothes for 26 days then puts tags back on them takes them back and gets an exchange (usually picks the seam or other stuff) but always has new clothes and shoes

I've still got a unit from comet from about 4 years ago that's still going strong. According to the thermometer on my phone it was kicking out air at 5.4 degrees and I've slept gre at for the last week!

imo i would say buy a new one. They dont like getting moved about alot. Why buy a 5 year old one off ebay for £100 when you can buy a new one for £250 with warrenty

I hate the hot weather. I'd rather it was cloudy and average temps all year round. Sod the rain though.

My Grandad wanted one, so I have him a good deal. I wasn't bothered about selling it either way. I haven't used it since I got my S4!

To to a hot country abroad and see if they have A/C? Oh right yes, fucking EVERYWHERE. That's because the invention of AC meant you didn't have to be a stinky sticky greasy bastard in your own home.
Our UK homes are so insulated to keep heat in that come summer the humidity is stupid, not just hot summers. EVERY summer. It is too hot to sleep properly, it's uncomfy and showering too much is a PITA. Rather just have a cool bedroom and enjoy the wonderful heat everywhere else.
Don't understand why it isn't more common over here tbh. Every summer is the same. Last year wasn't as hot in direct sunlight but it was still a bastard trying to sleep.
I fucking love the heat. But I'll moan if I want waking up in a puddle of sweat and having to change the sheets too often.

We got a new air conditioner at work and it huge. Its about 3.5 feet tall and at least a foot wide. The air only comes out about four slats at the top. Got to admit it works great though and its remote controlled so can set the temp and pressure from it.

I've been using mine for two nights and two days now.
First night i just set it a 16C and it was booming all night and way too cold to be comfy. second night I set it at 22c and it kicks in the compressor every half hour or so for 5 mins and is nice. Kept it on that same setting during the day on Monday and tuesday while I was sleeping and it was lovely. Combined with the black out curtains I have had the best summer sleeps since being on perm nights. The window is open slightly to get the flattened exhaust pipe out but doesn't affect the room as I have floor to ceiling curtains so a couple of books seal the curtain against the wall.
I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.
