Been our biggest rivals over the years, M69 derby and all that. I wouldnt want to see them cease to exist though, I looked on the Cov City Forum though and a stagerring 92% of over 600 fans said they would refuse to go to Northampton to watch them in protest.

Worst thing to happen to them was to be chucked out of Highfield Road.

Yep, should of been good for them, but the terms of the lease were ridiculous. There was never any way they could continue when they didn't receive any match day ticket income.

How the FA allowed it all to happen in the first place, and have now given them permission to play at Northampton is beyond me. Surely they could of shared a ground around Birmingham?

They should have played at the Coventry Rugby ground or even Hinckley's ground and had a temporary stand put up to comply with the FA legislation of the league.

Its going to be a while til we play Cov again I think, which is a shame, but last time we played them at the Ricoh, the home attendance was shameful considering the history of rivalry.

So maybe they deserve to fail for a while then. If they can't get a decent attendance for their derby then they can't moan much when things go tits up. At least they should half fill a 6,000 attendance ground

Depends, if the figures on the poll on the cov city forum were correct, the attendance is more likely to be 1500-2000.

How did your teams get on today then? I was pleasantly surprised that Leicester beat Middlesbrough after going 1-0 down early on. Was also a shame to see cov lose after a good battle.

From daily mail:
quote:

Coventry City have told their three highest-earning players they are free to leave the troubled club.

Coventry’s first match since being docked 10 points because of their financial crisis ended in a 3-2 defeat at Crawley.

Skipper Carl Baker, striker Leon Clarke and keeper Joe Murphy were told before Saturday’s League One opener they can go to save an estimated £1million a year in wages.

I also read they have only sold 300 season tickets for their ground share.

I'm surprised Coventry even had 1500 attend their first 'home' game. They went on to win though so fair play to them, even if it was tight.

In other news, Plymouth are having a shit start to the season so far eh

Great away result for Leicester at derby today, wasnt expecting that. Cov did well with a 4-0 away win too.

How'd your teams do?

Good result for Leicester in the cup last night. Went 1-0 down after 16mins then went on to win 5-2 with a hat trick from Wood.

So refreshing after watching that bore fest that was Man Utd vs Chelsea.....

He's got potential for sure, he just doesn't fit in to the team at the minute, I would like to have him around in a couple of years though.

Fucking wolves. Couldn't hold their lead for another 30 seconds tonight tossers. Had them, crewe and Vale in a treble, other two had won, wolves winning, was waiting for 10/1 on the draw to cover the bet , got to 9/1 and they concede. Cunts.

Yup. cost me my free fiver from skybet

Annoyingly I didn't even want Wolves, but it wouldn't let me choose Brentford
