Everyone was touting Clive Owen for Bond due to Croupier, looking back this would have been a terrible mistake. People were unsure of Daniel Craig due to the fact we had never had a blonde Bond, and he wasn't as well known. Layer Cake showed he was capable. They even rebranded the LC DVD cover after he was cast as Bond!
