Although mine was meant to be 90hp standard it actually pushed out 98hp, so after the remap 129hp is pretty good.
30hp gain.. misread the graph, looks more like 225ft/lbs.

got photos on my phone of the rolling road session. Need to get them on PC first

I dont buy the better MPG after remap arguments. You dont get extra power from thin air.

There's a slight argument about not needing to change down so often, but in pretty much every directly compared situation, the MPG will be worse after being remapped.

Its a known fact on ZetecS owners that you get better mpg out of the 1.6tdci fiesta when its mapped.

agreed, although it doesnt seem to have affected it noticeably. Its combined is (going by the book) 72mpg, although real world its around 60mpg. which is what i got from the first tank. So far this has got the same amount after the remap.

i think it is more down to not needing to change as often

Known fact because? A load of people off the internet claim it to be true after they have had a remap?

How is that even provable anyway? any given car journey to another cannot be compared, too many variables.

Also the very basics of more power = more air/fuel mean its probably not even possible due to some sort of physics laws.

Yes you can tweak the timing to improve things slighty due to the open nature engines are made to cope with all environments by default, but the extra air and fuel needed to go along with the increased boost will outweigh those benefits greatly.

I think a faster car needs less throttle to get up to speed and also pick up speed after a corner, an underpowered car will be burying his foot all the time. Maybe? Not sure, but i know the 4pot corrados are quite bad on fuel when you compare them to a VR6

Better MPG comes from more torque at lower revs meaning it's possible to drive more efficiently.

I've had various remaps and tunning boxes. Remaps on VAG tdi engines didn't make the MPG any worse.

The DTUK box on 1.9cdti engines increased the MPG, by maybe 4 or 5. these are actual figures btw, not the over reading computer ones.

This was all around 40mpg as well, not 60 or 80 like everyone else gets.

Yep, however, if you drive the same it will be worse

Foot the floor in 4th at 4.5k rpm the remapped car will be using more fuel, its impossible for it not to be.

Would depend on how it was mapped but in general yes, when you are booting it you'll be using more fuel.
