Spoke to bloke politely today. Got a sarcastic comment back
About how they didn't expect this many orders and it's people's fault for buying. Code was supposed to be for friends and family.
Then says he would happily cancel my order if I wished.

Ignorant cunt

Thats pretty shocking customer service tbh.

If no one bought them, they'd be out of a job. Should've told him that.

Glad I didn't buy any. They probably wipe their smeggy bellends on them before shipping out.

The initial email sounded cunty tbh. Like us poor small business got so many orders in we feel the need to complain.

They didn't have to honour the offer.

Have you not been getting emails from them? I've had a few updates about how the code got out and they simply couldn't meet demand in a timely fashion. All very honest and apologetic.

Got mine anyway, compared to my existing ones (£45) they fit the foot well good albeit don't extend quite as far under the pedals.

They're thinner/bendier and the pile is about as cheap and nasty as it is on my current ones

Wish I could still get genuines for mine, but these are a damn good buy for under £12.

Thank you for ordering a set of Car Mats from ValueCarMats.com

We are a manufacturer of Car Mats and just re-opened after the Christmas / New Year shut down period, we are aware that a discount voucher code has been promoted on a deal website, unfortunately we never know (or have any form of advance warning) of when a promotion will occur. The offer has been promoted without our knowledge and, to be frank, it has happened at the worst possible time. We have been totally swamped by this offer and it will be impossible for us to manufacture and dispatch your order as quick as we normally can. Due to the volume we anticipate your order may take 14 days to manufacture and dispatch and we ask that you be patient.

We are very sorry for the delay, but we assure you our production staff will be working as much overtime as possible to complete all the orders as soon as possible.

If you have any concerns please do not hesitate to contact us.

Thank you for your patience so far, we are about half way through completion of the backlog of orders due to a voucher code being posted and promoted on the HUKD website (without our prior knowledge). Your car mats are currently in our Finishing Department awaiting the edge trim. We hope to dispatch your car mats within the next 7 days. Once again, thank you for your patience and we are sorry for the delay caused by the influx of orders.

Regards

The Value Car Mats Team

Not had any updates from them at all.

I think bloke probably just had enough about people asking, that's now our fault though.

Small companies usually have far better customer service than big ones. Surprised that this isn't the case, although kyle seems to have had a better experience with them.

Funny thing is, this discount code has been active for at least 6 months.

So why so busy all of a sudden.

According to the guy that emailed.

It's always there,

Their regulars use it for discount as do family etc.
Posted online and then lots of people got involved. Demand was higher than supply

Not really the best business then.

Online shop, yet they weren't prepared for the high demand, nor did they go about advertising it themselves.

How do they expect to go about selling stuff if they don't willingly post the promo code.

People like me fucked it up posting on forums

It was supposed to be a family/friend code, but it went viral

I'm sure they learned their lesson, but kudos for honouring the deal tbf.

Ha, bit late to the party but have stuck an order in none the less. Bugs me that the GF's Micra doesn't have any mats other than 2 Tesco Value rubber ones which are as good as useless. Will have to see if anything turns up now lol

I seen it posted on another forum 6 months ago.

I think the family/friend excuse is just that, an excuse.

On the contrary, its an excellent business model, they're smashing production and every single one they make is already sold.

Not really the best business would be having loads of stock not moving, or having to pay for exposure like that.

If the guy sounds cunty, its probably because he's working 15 hours per day trying to get the stuff out the door and people keep asking him where their stuff is. I'd sound cunty as well, its obvious they're busy, you only need to read forum threads to see that there have been loads of orders and they're not going to have been able to get them done in time.

Add to that the fact that everyone on the internet wants things that afternoon, if not sooner.

Add to that, he's probably eating in to the margins a bit paying overtime.

Add to that, the fact that a lot of people wanting mats would have paid more for the same item and those customers are lost now. They'd have brought in less money from fewer orders at a higher price, but their overheads would also have been lower.

But otherwise, that's a great bit of business right there. Nothing wrong with a small business being busy. You really can't suggest that because the guy didn't anticipate going nationwide in a short space of time that he's not running the thing well.
