You'd be better off asking a local bodyshop to blow it over if you agree to degreasing, scotching it up and masking it first... It would take them no time at all!

It will fit in nicely at a VAG show once its been rollered.

Never been a fan of matte paint jobs. Always looks unfinished, or the owner couldn't afford a decent spray job.

Id agree with that 99% of the time, however this is a Land Rover Defender so doesnt apply

will spend most of the tme unwashed

It does apply though when we all know how anal you are. It will be looking tip top all the time.

The Puma was a track car, but spent most of its time under a cover.

Probs only cost around £300 for somebody to quickly do a blow over if you prep it.

Have you thought of wrapping it yourself? I've done cars before and it's easy enough, will be dead easy with a box shaped land rover.

The finish will look as good as paint, especially being matte. It really is dead easy to do, just buy a £10 heat gun and a few squeegees and you'll do it in a few days. I was using cheap vinyl which worked great and cost £100-£150 per car.

the paint does look ok already, so i vote wrap it.
thing with matt on a land rover that is going to be used off road is that as soon as a branch goes down the side the scratch is there forever

Just a bit of tree sap will leave permanent mark.. I think Steve will be painting it on a weekly basis

Wrapping is easily the best option. Easiest and cheapest and you won't damage the lovely standard paint.

Even if I wrapped it the paint would get ruined anyway because id want to sand some of the areas where I can see oxidation appearing

I am coming round to the idea of wrapping maybe though, im still not convinced how hard wearing is it?

Of course if its being wrapped there is no need to stick with grey, theres loads of colours

May as well keep it green

I think a dark grey will be best but the joy with wrapping is you can change it whenever you want. It will chip the wrap if you hit any stones or anything but you can easily just re-do that panel.

Is there no way you can make it look nice with the current green?
