My missus has a council house she pays her rent next year we are buying it. Good start. If I can avoid the tax.

You and nic bar ens should move in together.

Also, you can't buy a council house straight up. Need to be a tenant for a certain amount of time.

I don't think you can buy them with 35% discount anymore can you? There must be a time scale ie 10 years ? In which case you have wasted 10 years rent for 35% . In which you could of paid off half of a "normal" house elsewhere that isn't stuck next door to other council tenants . Or am I wrong?

Our house is live in it for 7 years then discount.she would of been there 9 years when we buy it.

Yes and no.deposit required house is worth 148k we get 71k discount so thst equity is our deposit and before you say no it cant be weve seen the mortgage people and we can in 5 yrs i can sell the house happily knowning ive gotbtge best part of 80k profit

Council houses tend to be in shit areas. I can't think of many council areas that are nice tbh.
