Gravy. But with carrots and onions (don't like onions, just like the flavour).

Sausages, carrots, onions, water, gravy granules. Chuck it in the casserole, 45 mins in the oven, boom.

More gravy than the plate can handle. That is all.

Everything. Sauce is for chips, gravy is for potatoes and chicken/beef/yorkshires and mash

Yes, gravy for mash and peas

You get people that just mince about with gravy - little bit here, little bit there; just slap it on man!!

If you can't pick the gravy up with your fork then it's too watery

Truth

My dad used to be awful at making gravy. I was as well just running the tap over my food.

Sausage & Mash is definitely a gravy dinner.

Talking of Beans though, what the fuck is baked beans in Cottage/Shepard's Pie all about? Loads of people seem to do that.

Beans are strictly a fry-up element or at worst on toast with some cheese.

Not even a jacket potato or egg 'n chips Mike?!

Not a fan of jackets either tbh although you may have a point with that one, the beans would at least add a small amount of moisture to the dehydrated potato. Adding beans to chips and egg is a proper pet hate of mine, their presence on the plate just devalues the dish, they somehow manage to kill the nicer flavours in favour of their blandness.

I hate beans and mash on the same plate. Doesn't taste right to me at all. Potatoes of any variety don't mix well with beans, only gravy.

That shit does my nut in. If I can go a meal without wearing some, there wasn't enough/thick enough gravy.
