It's okay if nothing else is on. When I watched this I thought it was going to be about the whole town/village not just based on one family. Not scary though.

There is a film which I'm sure was based on an island where there was a gang of locals snatching people and sacrificing them, but first they had to slice of their skin while they were still alive.. I cant remember the name (annoyingly) but I'm into my horrors and it was pretty good!

The Shining - Not so much scary but eerie.
Friday The 13th remake - Surprisingly very authentic.
The Hills Have Eyes - Original or remake. Original more creepy as feels more believable.
The Mist - Worth it for the end.
Silent Hill - Just messed up and freaky.
Wolf Creek - Too realistic.
Freddy vs Jason - If you like the franchises.
Ghost Ship - Intro is break taking. Rest of the film is terrible.
The Wicker Man - Not easy viewing. No gore but scary in other ways.
Candyman - Candyman Candyman Candyman Candyman
The Omen - Original or remake.
Dawn of the Dead / Day of the Dead - Both classics.
Stir of Echoes - Kevin Bacon is beyond his usual creepy.
After.Life - I got scared for the main character in this.
Near Dark / The Lost Boys - 80's vampire films.

if you are a fan of the genre and watched all the classic films etc and looking for new don't expect it to be perfect there is a column in Empire mag in the dvd section on the topic each month, no need to buy just read it in shop. Im a big a fan of the genre.

On another note Wolf Creek is really fucked up, really fucked up.
