Has a point. Shocking how many Sprinters etc you see that are only 1-2yrs old and they are rusting.

It is a bit of an EPIC fail by Merc! Only certain panels are galvanised on the Vito/Viano/Sprinter and it depends on the year it was made so its a bit of a gamble as to what will rust.
On the model I've got they suffer badly on the tailgate and mine is no exception its clearly been painted a couple of times.. Other than that its got a scab on one sil and the drivers door has got stone chip that has perforated... I have how ever seen some proper rot boxes! The really late models do seem much less prone to rust but I've even seen a 2009 model with both rear arches rotted out..

I wouldn't have thought you'd notice the drive axle until it got a bit heavy.
Mercs are SHIT for rust though.

I found another supplier (VanHaus) who also make a Reimo copy and I also managed to get some more detailed pics from PopTopsUK and VanHouse:
Pop Tops UK Kit:
VanHaus Kit:
I have to admit the VanHaus offering looks the best 'budget' offering so far!

Well the Viano came and went, it was a great car but the Reimo pop-top roof was going to cost £3k to import (there are cheaper kits available but they all had bad reviews) and being as the car owed me £5.5k it wasn't worth it..
This time I'm doing things backwards, I've had a look at the roof kits that are available and there is a really nice two piece (meaning it wont leak) kit for the Traffic/Vivaro/Primastar and its about 1500 quid.
Just got to look out for a low-ish mileage SWB Crew cab Vivaro/Traffic now.
I've been told to avoid the 2.0cdti ones as apparently they are unreliable as hell!

Get a land rover 101, they are so square you can make anything for them, including the roof.

I think they look alright when they are tidy (although the wheels on this one look gay as fuck):

i dunno, they just seem like they are trying too hard in a market dominated by the superior transporter.
prices reflect that, they are drastically cheap for a reason. as they are massively inferior compared to the popular transporters.

I agree under normal circumstances but the Transporter has VAG TAX attached.. Its over-inflated The T5 is a pretty looking VAN but the drive and spec doesn't warrant the price tag.

You can sell the transporters for good money though as there is a market at those prices.
