Roof is done, scaffold is down. We have made all our choices on kitchen units, carpets, tiles, built-in wardrobes etc

I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

LOL!
I take it his house is going to be rendered and it will compliment the Red tile, common practice for developers to mix things up, it keeps the place looking interesting.
Its only estates full of social housing these days where all of the houses look identical

Looks good. Did you use the Help to buy scheme?
Looking for something similar in the future with the scheme if those Labour bastards don't get rid of it!

Looking good Ste. The house to the right looks a little taller. Is it or is it just the perspective of the photo?

It's probably just a slightly taller house, they're different designs.

You can see from the last photo that the house on the right is much further forward.. clearly that's why it looks taller

Ste needs to measure the two houses for us imo. I reckon the neighbours one is taller.
Unless next door is significantly further forward, that is.
A couple of feet further forward wouldn't increase the roof height very much taking perspective into account.
I'll await Ste's reply. Nice house btw, bet you can't wait to get moved in!

Uncommon to have altering roof heights on new developments. Usually building frame is the same (bar cosmetic differences), with internal layout different.

I live on a new development (August 2013) and a few of the houses on my street, including next door are a different height

They're the same price. Some on the estate are brick, some render. The render ones use breeze blocks in place of red brick so they probably cost the same to make

Exchanged contracts today.
Had a little walk down to the house and could see in through the open front door that the walls were plastered and second fix electrics were installed.

Rendering looks more professional (imo). How come they do that after the windows/doors have been put in any particular reason? Also by that last photo looks like you can extend the ground floor or is that where a car will be parked (under the window).
