Not unless the car hes driving has a carb lol its all controlled by ECU

Controlled by a cable or an ecu a carb or injectors it's still refered to as "being on choke" when idles high from cold, mechanical choke will allow more fuel to aid startup so will and ecu it'll just inject more fuel from the injectors, same thing, stop trying to be clever all the time go and play with your star wars models and suckle off your mums teet

Also I didn't say I built Ferrari engines at 16 I built a 1600 8v and what would I use other than my bare hands? My feet? Fucking idiot

Referred to by whom exactly.. A moron??

Back in the dark ages a 'choke' did exactly that, it blocked much of the air going into the carb so the car run rich also there would generally be a mixed metal spring or a vacuum controlled adjustment in the distributor that when its cold it would mean the timing was retarded slightly.

These days the ECU simply up's the injector duty cycle and the timing is far more accurately controlled.

There is no choking of the intake.

I know how it works. I'm saying it as a figure of speech, both work differently but have the same effect on the engine, idles higher when cold.

We get customers who don't understand how it works until compared to a choke as there the older generation and that's what they grew up using, younger generations wouldn't understand a choke, as I say figure of speech, I know what I meant and everyone I work with know what each other means when we refer to it

Tbh a lot of people do still refer to it as a choke. It's just something the ecu does now, instead of you pulling a cable.

I had something similar on my 308. coil pack fucked up after changing the plugs at 70k. Lost around 8 - 10 mpg and was getting a bit of chugging on acceleration.

EML light eventually came on mine after around 2000 miles when pushing the car in -2 temperatures.

Stuck a new pack on, was sound after that.
