9.5 Years, role has changed quite a bit in that time.
Would only really move for something that was much closer to home, 9.5 years of 70 miles a day does get me down

7 in the chip shop 7 in the office.
Looking for something new. Work here has got stale, no chance of bettering myself any more and pay rises are disastrous! Plus the work is not done correctly.

4 months for me. Was made redundant from a job I loved at the start of the year. Now doing something I don't enjoy quite as much, if at all.
Oil industry is a grim place to work at the moment. Considering a move to an alternative engineering type industry but would be difficult to match the salary.

Straight from School got sent to college to get my A-Levels in Business Administration, then got sent away to Glasgow (where our I.T Support was at the time) to learn the basics etc. I keep going to leave but they keep upping my pay.  Really need to find somewhere new.

Last place I was employed I was there for 11 years! I started when the company was relatively small (there were 5 of us) and left when it was becoming much bigger and the whole feel of the place had changed.
When I left there over 2 years ago I went out on my own contracting.

10yrs 5 months in my job now. Went from doin every shift in the warehouse then onto to the lorries where I've been for the past 6 yrs. Shit job but decent money.

The heavy plant industry is really big in Aberdeen just now thanks to the new bypass kicking off, not as much money as oil and gas but plenty of overtime.

Been with the same company nearly 11 years now, but only recently moved across to transport in February.
No future plans, I'll retire here unless the job changes dramatically. Should put me at around 50 odd years service

same here. Been paying in since I was 19, currently 27 with 8 years service.
40 years would be the minimum for me tbh I think earliest I can go is 56, so 37 years in total.

I've been with my place since I was 16. Paid into a company pension since then. I'm 33 now. I'd love to get out between 56-60 with 40+ years service.
All depends on the future. My actual retirement date is 65 but I don't want to be still working then

That was my main driver; I went from a 70mile round trip commute plus travelling all over the country clocking about 30,000miles per year to now doing 6miles each way. Get way more time at home, saving a small fortune on fuel and car costs - cutting all the miles is one of the best things I've ever done.

Would like to cut the travelling time but the only way I can do that is by moving to London. And I did the opposite of that by moving further away. Rather do the mileage than live near London.

My jobs a 64 mile round trip a day. I did it on a 50cc scooter when I was 16 to passing my test
It doesn’t bother me. Tunes on and relax when I get in the car. And I very rarely hit traffic.
