Either way, regardless of you or others believing F1 is the pinnacle of motorsport, it still doesn't answer my question to whether or not Hamilton is the most successful British driver across all motorsports. But as Pete says, it depends how clarify 'successful', ie - if you went off championships then Jackie Steward would be most 'successful' Brit in F1 etc

You also have to consider some of the stuff that the likes of Clark, Surtees and Moss all got up to.
I.e. not just competing/winning in the one specific area of motorsport.
