All of you are missing the point. No man wants to get married its a girl thing, they fucking love it.

I thought I would reward my girlfriend for years of putting up with my shit and letting me shag her all the time.

Just stereotypes. Plenty of men want to get married. If hey don't, they're even more under the thumb than imagined

We had this. I felt a bit mean in the end that she doesn't have our surname. Plus whatever they say, a wedding day I s always a big thing for a girl.

Best of luck for tomorrow. Please take this advice though, the day will go extremely fast, quicker than any other day of your life. Take time out throughout the day to reflect on whats just happened, usually in the transitioning steps of the day (from church/registry to pictures to night to bed or whatever the plan is)

It's the best day however remember its all about her, she is the main attraction and you simply need to follow suit and look great along side her.

It'll happen one day If she puts up with me for long enough, and our son, who takes after me so much she's taking a dislike to him too haha, just seems at the moment we have bigger priorities that a wedding, one day......

I hate the friends and family that bang on how you have to get married soon, we did at your age etc etc.

Great, should we also synchronise sex, and blowjobs too?

Fuck off

The gf keeps making hints, also being 32 i probably shouldnt leave it too much longer for my first marriage However itd be a right pain in the arse, both my parents live in Thailand but dont get along, her mother doesnt speak English, i dont get along with the father too well, my other relatives and friends are in the UK, would be an absolute nightmare. I think eloping to Vegas is the best option

No only way we could justify the cost and as we have 4 kids if we were going to have a holiday without them we were gonna go somewhere we probably will never go again

Went really well, speech went down well too, don't know what I was worried about

The day does go extremely fast, we had an excellent photographer, who took us away for a breather and some nice location shots.

May post some up if anyone is interested.

We really had the perfect day, nothing I would change about it

Congrats guys, so many weddings happening this year it's crazy, 2 friends got married on Saturday aswell.
People saying it's all for the women, I agree until you get involved and start planning. It was one of the most enjoyable days of my life and I would relive it in an instant if I could. So glad we got it video'd as I've lost count of how many times I've watched the DVD!

Like me

In the modern world, is there really any need for marriage? Besides Facebook likes, of course.

Been managing perfectly fine with my missus in our house without a piece of paper telling me some kiddly fiddler agrees to our last names matching and some other reigious bullshit

I don't think people get married for facebook likes or religious bullshit. What's wrong with it? Like someone said above it's about bringing them into your family.
