As for the engine, if its the 130 i'd stick it in, as im pretty sure the gearbox, mounts and drive shafts are the same for the valver, so at least you wont have to change them. It'll aslo be lighter than the valver, so could actually be a better alternative, but suppose it depends if your going to tune it or not. Might be worth having a chat with drew, as his is the 8v 130

Sure there was a 110 too. If its only a low spec one then it'll have that engine in, otherwise it'll be a 130 i think.

Is it a Mk2 or 3?
In the 2 there was a 124 BHP engine
and in the Mk3's there was a 115, and a 136 2.0 8v

If it's an astra mk3 there was a 115bhp 2.0 8v on the SRi and a 2.0 16v redtop GSi (150bhp) and a 2.0 16v ecotec (136bhp).
The 130bhp 2.0 8v was only found in the Cavalier and Calibra 8v I thought
