1.0 12V
0-60 in 19.9 seconds
55 BHP
3 Cylinder
1.2 8V
0-60 in 18 seconds
45BHP
4 Cylinder
The 1.2 8V is quicker to 60 because of the increased cylinders and capacity meaning more torque, the 1.0 12V is quicker top end because of the extra valves.
Oh and I have raced a fair few Saxo's, I have never lost to a 1.1 Saxo, my mate has one and I have raced him on the local industrial estate and beat him, also normal driving I beat him maybe just a better driver, I dunno. Just telling ya what I know.

1.2 8v corsa - 45 bhp 0-60 18 secs

the 1.0 has no low poke because of the large flywheel. thaats why the 1.2 is quicker earlier in the revs.
There are kits for the 1.0 from http://www.dbilas.com/English/dbilas.html
and
http://www.kempower.be/opel/corsa.htm
or perhaps try a
http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/
but as said above bottomless pockets essential for this sort of caper. and forget about the cheap insurance.
