I just think its very uncool to go and tell someone if you`ve shagged say 50 people, makes you sound like a sl4g! And if you`ve only shagged 1 or 2 people some people might think your`re a nonce By that rationale its better to be a little mysterious and keep the numbers (if you`re sad enough to count) to yourself.
