According to an ICE guide i have here.... (not max by the way :lol
'RCA' or 'Phono' outputs can be found on the back of the unit. These are often red/white or red/black. These are unamplified line source outputs. They provide a clean signal to any external amplification device.

The RCA's are NOT amplified.
Its a 'source' signal itself.
Thomas's HU does not have an int amplifier (if its the one i'm thinkin' of).
just like austin said.

It would help if I knew how to setup my system, but I dont so I just feck about with stuff until it sounds right.
All I know is I have an Alpine CDA7893R head unit, this runs a set of Pioneer 13cm Co-Axials in the front and a SPLX Amp (dont laugh, its ok for powering a sub) running a JBL GT3-12" sub.
Thats all I have in mine, sounds OK to me, getting JBL components up front and another amp and 12" sub.

Thanks guys, i wouldnt of thought it had an amp inside to be honest as it only has a 7A fuse. Cheers anyway for the help. My h.unit is cracking though and I seriousley recomend anyone to get one, they now retail at £550 NOT £800 like i paid when i got one of the first 10 in the country and they have soo many features its untrue!
