basically i still see her every day, i didnt even know the girl and wasnt allowed at the funeral, which i dint think i would but hard to show you are sorry, which you cant even put into words, only if you been in the situation you know what its like, you have no control over it and its worse that i neverknew her, was friends friend. every day i wish it was me and not her dead and that she didnt deserve in the slightest. she was only 16 and had one gcse left and was going to get a bikini because she was going on holiday to ibiza about a week after the crash. the hospital is been investigated with her death her because she was improving. but still my fault shes in there, and theres also the fact she might have been disabled or even worse a vegetable and had no kind of life anyway, sp theres conflicting thoughts that because she died eased some pained for her, but you feel guilty for thiking that way and seeing her best friend grief every day doesnt ease it at all and then you hear stories os it never eases at all and always on the surfacee. and i cant imagine what her family are like. i met them in the hospital, i went to see them all as was the right thing to do and wanted to see if i could help in anyway but they said they would let me , basically it hurts right down to the core of my soul, if thats an easier way tsay, but thought that would bore everyone and not really what people wanted to hear and just bare details

From reading this i can tell that you do truly care, and i dont care what anyone else says, it sounds like an awful accident, and you were not at fault, apart from having too many people in the car. I will be thinking of what you wrote for the rest of the day. It really opens your eyes to how dangerous driving can be.

i dont think that you can be held responsible for passengers actions once they are older than 16 anyway - surely it was their choice to get in tthe car with to many people and you didnt force them into it? - it is terrible that someone died but lets be honest the fact you were going 75/80 prolly didnt make a huge difference as a gatso prolly wouldnt have even gone off had you gone through one at that speed on a a/m road - in hindsight you may have been better hitting the car infront but its impossible to say - i nearly did the same kindof thing in my saxo down the a127 - someone pulled out into the fast lane doing litterally about 30mph as someone in the slow lane was turning off and i was doing like 70 and my furios brakes were a bit funky and i swerved and flew all over the place and just managed not to hit anything (had i dont then i can imagine it would have been bad - especially in a saxo) but the person who pulled out had the audacity to FLASH me! - i can kind of relate to your situation tho (obviously without the fatalaty) and see how just cruising along minding your own business can instantly become a problem thanks to some mongaloid driver not paying attention

in cinclusion i feel that whilst terrible that it was not your fault that the girl died and it would be harsh to do jail time for it, but when has the voice of reason had anything to do with anything - sorry bud

Personally if I'd crashed and a person in my car had died regardless of how of whose to blame I would not be talking about it on the net so lightly.

Comments like 'how long you think I'll go down for' put on here make it sound like you don't care about going to prison or have any remorse the someone died, someone lost a life, whilst you were in control of that vehicle.

I am sure you have remorse, sorrow, whatever but the fact is you allowed 4 people to get in the back of a car designed for 2 people, 3 at a push. When your driving you are responsible for the people in that car, and allowing 4 in the back is irresponsible.

Presumption here is worthless. Boy racer / old man / old woman / learner / black / white / yellow / brown / means nothing.

You got into your car and drove it with 4 people in the back, and the worst happened. You couldve had said, sorry I cannot take 4 people in the back of my car, might've annoyed the people who wanted a lift, but then it might be a different story today with only people involved only slightly injured.

As a driver you are responsible to make sure that everyone in the car is wearing a seatbelt and are in safely.

As a driver you are responsible for their lives as you control their destiny with the wheel in your hands.

All my posts might read harshly, we're all human and we all make mistakes that we later regret. Different people do different things, though we are all under the same laws of the land and the courts will see the view simply as, if there was not 4 people in the back, the accident might still have happened but there would probably not have been a death.

good luck- what you did was a bit silly and unfortuantly youve payed the ultimate price- I dont see how a spell in prison is going to benefit you, the victim or her family and hopefully the judge will also see it like this- The incident alone is going to change the way you drive.

I can totally understand why you are worried about the threat of prison- Its people like you that could have their lives ruined by going down, rather than being banned for a long time and carrying on being a decent member of society

good luck matey
