some people need to STFU and realise that a 1st house doesnt have to be a 200k 3 bed with double garage. Buy a small repo or one that needs work, graft away, work for it, lazy fuckers

Some quality comments in this thread. I bought my first house at 23. Don't regret it for a minute tbh. If I could have got away with having a flash car and living at mums I would have done, but bringing a lady back is not an option as its pretty disrespectful on them in a 3 bed semi IMO

My mate bought a 996.2 GT3 a few years back. Same weekend he completed the finance papers and took ownership his dad went apeshit about him having two project cars at the house plus his daily driver and said no more till they were away.
1.5yrs of finance at 700 a month and he had it out the garage he bought it from for 4 weekends
Always wanted to go pimping up the town in it, never quite computing 2 of us in the car would remove any space for passengers and where was he going to take them if he did pull

I'm 25 and still live at home, mainly because I'm an apprentice on my second year. I'm hoping to move out when I'm 27 and completed my course.

And I should move 100's of miles away from my family/friends/job to buy this repro and do it up in my spare time, as well as working 2 jobs yeah? 200k here would buy me a 1/2 bed flat.

Live at home with your parents for as long as you can and save your money.
Buy a few guitars, join a band and live the dream.

Give over mate. I've seen plenty of nice places in Reading for cheap. Reading seems a lot cheaper than this way. I've been tempted a few times but don't want to work / live in Reading as I spent 4 years there at uni and got bored of it.

'I can't get anything under 200k' normally means 'I can't get a big house the next street down from my parents for 200k'.
