So the first £10.6-12.5k no tax, then upto £50k @ 20%, to 100k @ 40%, 100k+ 50%
When does this begin? Or is it merely a proposal at this stage?
It's in place isn't it?

If I remember rightly, the Greens had a 60% PAYE tax band in their manifesto. That would hurt, not that it would affect me but does seem a little steep.

The problem with doing the 60% and higher tax bands is that if you are earning that much you are often employing a good accountant which within the current rules with reduce the amount of tax you pay.
Increasing the higher tax bands will not generate much money from the research that has been done. Many other places they are better spending the money on.

Giving the government 60% of what you earn is heinous IMO.

In principle, a larger loan requires a stronger business case.
I'd far prefer that people who go there come out with something worthwhile that actually strengthens their job prospects.
You don't get that when the government aim is 50% of all school leavers should go there and of those, very few have an actual plan.
If it was a million quid to go - firstly its a loan and secondly you'd only do that were you sure you could pay off the million quid. And don't say you wouldn't like that's as a result of it being a million, there are people going there currently with no intention of even paying off the opportunity cost of not having worked for three years.

That view isn't peculiar to lefties you know. I believe in helping people. You will note that at no point have I said scrap AtW, or make every disabled person homeless, or demonise anyone who hasn't got a job. That's only the typical lefty response when someone of sound mind asks if its at all possible to keep welfare spending sensible.

No, moaning about lefties because they can't see to see past the fact that welfare expenditure is too high.
Also my major gripe is not at all based on opinion, its the type of shit you have to read.
For example the PR debate. Now the most sensible position there would be to say UKIP were massively under-represented and to some extent Green and Lib Dem were also affected by it.
You might argue SNP benefited from it as a criticism as its disparate in terms of proportion.
But no, we have a Facebook group now called 'We are the 63%' which is all about how many people said no to Tory. Now forgive me for my poor memory but I don't recall that being the case? As I understand you vote for someone and the person with the most votes wins.
Its utter shit - this many people didn't vote for the majority government. Like its some kind of fucking fix.
If you want PR - lets hear the reasons why PR is more reflective of the opinions of the people in the country.
Not some lefty shit about how somehow the collective collaboration of every other single party sums up to be some kind of silent democratic force? Has anyone sat back and actually looked at what that suggestion constitutes? You want a majority government of 63% of non-Tories comprising every other party, who then, in order to get anything through the House, have to vote in unison? Load of shit. If you want absolutely stagnate every single bit of legislation then sound yeah, form a completely disfunctional coalition that would never, ever get anything done.
Could have been done in 2010 if anyone felt strongly enough at the time, there are enough non-Tory seats that it would have been a majority government but its also complete fallacy. And anyone with any knowledge of anything to do with any part of the political process knows that. It was 52.9% in 2010 which is still enough, but no one did it. Not because its not enough to obtain a majority, but more problematically because its an utterly shit idea.
That wouldn't have even needed electoral change and it still didn't work.
What about this campaign? PR and a massive coalition? Suppose that'll be someone else's fault when it obviously doesn't happen.
Please, have an opinion. But you must know the type of thing that annoys me when I call someone a lefty. Its a lot more to do with how they speak than what they're saying.
