The First GP I did I took an SLR but carrying it around just annoyed me, and I'm not good enough to take advantage of one properly.

That said, the point/shoot I picked up a few years ago doesn't do too bad - it just struggles with lighting a little bit and obviously without a proper zoom lense my close ups are a bit naff.

Luckily we were in a good spot at Silverstone, the GA banking where we sat let us see/shoot over the fence and the cars were not too far away. A friend I was with took his SLR, so we're going to consolidate all our photos then upload and post, hopefully end of this week.

Beat me to it. I thought the extension would be for a solitary season.

Almost starting to think about 2017 and the new car formula now.

Silly season is quickly deflating. Kimi staying on at Fez and Nico staying at Merc has really dulled it off

I think the Nico element is good - they at least challenge each other

new driver in Merc would certainly be a second driver to hamilton to manage his expectations

Apart form Nado, Vettel and Hamilton , I think Rosberg is up there with the best availabke in F1 - discounting Max because time will tell and he is locked into Redbull

I like Riccardo but don't feel he is up there, Kimi is not consistent as is Button

Might have been good to get Sainz or Max in Merc but was never going to happen so the best outcome for me

He always Cheers like he's just won the world cup whenever he gets gifted stuff it's quite laughable really.

Lewis was 3 and a half tenths up after the 1st sector, so he'd have aced that lap.

Oh well, let's hope for a good old smash up.

Even for those who dislike Hamilton, he does make a fair point about yellow flags.

I think thats what everyone wants with all these rules. Its the big problem where by it seems like they are all interpreted differently to how they are written i.e. the outside track limits. Its a very simple rule yet every track has a different 'version' of it.

The double-yellow is a prepare to stop yet what that really means is dubious - 0.1s slower doesn't seem to be going at a speed where you could perform a controlled stop. I think speed limits might make it the only way to be simple. Yellow is Max Xmph, Double Yellow is Ympg.

Was there a reason that the sessions were red flagged every time there was an accident? Sure it didn't used to be like that and the cars could just be left there, if safe of course.

It's the Bianchi effect.

To get the drivers out, the Marshals come onto the track area. If another car were to slide off and take them out, there'd be uproar.

Health and safety.

Each time a car crashed and needed to be removed. During the race they would have all been safety car/virtual safety car due to the cranes coming on track but in quali there is not enough time for them so its a red flag to cause less disruption to the quali session.

What a boring race - could have been so good but so hard to overtake at that circuit

It was a boring race, not much real attacking going on but then it was a bit of a tyre management race. Bring back refuelling to introduce another variable strategy into the race I think.

Whilst I enjoyed refueling at pit stops as much as the next man, to reintroduce fueling rigs now would only serve to further tip the financial imbalance for a number of teams.
