Quite a few people have said that but the way I see it. When I drop it in the extra power will feel immense then when I add some cams it will feel even better. If I add them now it will still just feel immense!

And the lifters are the originals cleaned up then they have sat in an oil bath since being removed. I've used plenty of cam lube aswell.

Update

Thanks for the comments guys

Yesterday I cleaned up my cam belt cover on the wire wheel, Came up nice and shiny as always

Also gave the rocker cover a quick swill in the paraffin wash, wont be tarting this up at all as it's got to much damage on it to bother. Will be buying a new one and getting it painted white in the future.

My new slave cylinder arrived today so stripped the innards out of the drum

And fitted the new slave followed by a bleed.

The whole system needs a good bleed now it's sealed. The brakes feel a lot better already.

Got the starter motor cleaned up and fitted to the C20XE as well.

Fin

You're only jealous Dan-Sport. No point having it all so spanking to bolt on a few filthy parts.

My top alternator bracket has arrived off chris astleys ebay store.

Thank god they had one could not find one anywhere, had to fork out £25 for it, at least it's shiny.

Will get it fitted once the alternators cleaned up and I've got some M8 bolts long enough.

Looking good mate!

Was it a pain to do the rear cylinders or did they come out quite easily? I couldnt do my old ones because me and dan only had a bloody spanner and it just rounded off the nut that attaches the brake pipe to cylinder.

What hoses you planning on yousing? You going for flash ones like Mr Hall or just sticking to standard gm ones with a bit of sean B ocd clean.

Thanks,

Rear cylinder was easy, I changed them both when I first had the car but even then it wasn't hard. You should have used a proper 5 sided brake union spanner.

Standard GM to start with as I don't know what colour scheme to do in the bay yet.

I hope it will be in before then. Should be able to buy all the others bits and bobs I need end of this month so it's getting close.

Got to clean the gearbox yet!

I always take loads of pics!

And I didn't say it like that. The rocker cover I have is crap. So I'm going to get another and get it painted. The new one will be fitted within a month of the engine going in.

Update

Cleaned my M Tech drive shafts and CV joints today. Will be getting a coat of black paint aswell

Also managed to get hold of some M8 threaded bar from work so set about cutting it to size and got the alternator fitted in place.

Bolted on a few other bits and pieces and it's basically 95% finished. Just got to plumb it all in and plug the wiring loom in.

Starting to get excited now as it will be in soon!

Update

Cleaned up my exhaust manifold yesterday at work, got quite a few sideways glances from the management whilst on the wire wheel

Was looking at it with a mate at work and realised that it actual terminates at 2.25" and then someone has welded on a 2" piece of pipe (where the lambda boss is). I'll be removing the 2" pipe and replacing it with some 2.5", seen as the rest my system is 2.5".

Also just ordered a load of new parts which should be turning up next week.

  • M Tech Quickshift 2.0 conversion linkage
  • Nylon gear linkage bushes
  • Faulkner rear coilover springs 1.9” ID x 8”FL @ 175lb x2
  • Eibach EZ Cam Front Camber Adjustment Bolts
  • Front engine mount rubber bush
  • 3 piece clutch kit for my flat type flywheel.
