16/05/15
So it was all going well , car was running on Wednesday and running well! Thursday came and it wouldn't start at all.
Changed the crank sensor did some wiring checks none fixed it. Checked the timing that was ok
So a compression test was carried out with some worrying results
1- 125psi
2- 115psi
3- 45psi
4- 25psi
The head gasket has blown between cylinder 3 and 4
That wasn't all either
Some scoring on the bores and also the crank has some float
That would explain the scored bores.
Gutted is an understatement
Blocks going away today as is the crank to be assesed I await the results as we speak

Peoples idea of a rebuild are vastly different imo.
Guy on corrado forum paid £3k for his and hardly any miles later it has the same issues as before, piston slap and a tappy head.
After doing mine and spending £3k on just parts i can't see how a garage can do a proper job for £3k, which involves removing the engine as well.
I reckon some people just take them apart, clean a few bits and put them together again
