Brakes failed on both mercs! Lucky it was the last lap for Lewis.

If Rosberg has been quicker, maybe Kimi wouldn't have caught him?

3 wins from the first 4 races. Rosberg must be wondering wtf did he do wrong.

Not even nervous during a GP anymore. Does that mean I'm not enjoying it?

That's like saying ''if only football matches were 100 minutes long''.

Fact is, there wasn't. Lewis won with a brake issue. Makes no odd's how close Kimi was getting. He came 2nd.

Errr, actually it would be more like saying if only the match was 91 minutes long?

And ummm, OK?

93minutes is probably the most accurate

In one of the post race interviews Hamilton played down his brake issue saying he was able to reset it using his steering wheel. Not sure if Nico just didn't do this or his went just at the wrong time meaning he didn't have time to sort it.

Would Kimi have caught Hamilton - Who knows. Was Hamilton going all out or was he holding back doing just enough to keep the engine nice and safe for the next race.

You only need to look at how Vettel struggled to overtake with the better tyres that it was not always a case of job done. If Nico had not had the brake issue could he have held Kimi off?

I don't think so, it had been ~1sec per lap loss to Kimi for a few laps.

Great drive from the world class Vettel there

Welcome back to the room Nico Rosberg! Was quite impressed with his early moves and not his fault he lost his brakes, im not sure he could've held him off anyway.

Another perfect drive from Lewis, no mistakes, he just has complete control of races right now, if he needs a tenth, he gets a tenth, if he needs 3, he gets 3. Was a bit annoyed when he lost his gap but he just dealt with it, held them off at around 2 secs then pulled it when it came to the stops. When do we start talking about him being the best there is? Quali is back, race pace is superb, i cannot see any faults.

27 points. Mind the gap, Nico.

Kind of agree, apart from the start where im always wary he gets punted off

But once he has the lead i have absolute confidence he'll get the job done and only events outside his control will stop him winning. I used to always start to worry when he'd drop a bit of time, but now you know he's just managing the gap. Hes quite happy to have someone sat 1.5-2 secs behind him. Ridiculous confidence and bottle, Rosberg couldnt do that.

JJ - No mistakes apart from the bit when he out braked himself?

Am loving the sheer dominance of de glocker by Hammy, its brilliant. Just shows that all Lewis needed was confidence, and now he has it Nico is waaay back there. 1 point ahead of Seb.

Nico did have a good drive though, seemed more on it this weekend but still badgering the radio every five minutes asking what to do lol.

Not sure I agree with Nico having a good drive or being a changed driver.

He made some decisive moves on the Ferrari, but he should be making decisive moves on Lewis if he's got half a chance of the WDC.

Or have expectations just adjusted, and now splitting ther Ferraris is a "good job"?

Ok, thats harsh but fair enough, only a 9.99999 rating for Lewis this race

Kyle, i agree, i just think he showed a bit more fight, in comparison to earlier in the season. Compare that to Malaysia where he basically just handed positions over and was begging the team to engineer him infront of them without actually doing anything himself and China where he didnt even try to attack Lewis, just accepting that 2nd was all he was going to get once Lewis took T1 in first.

So its an improvement comparitive to earlier, not in general, where he is getting trounced. Still, is it really that bad losing to the best in the sport?

What did make me laugh was Nico was coming up to backmarkers [Mclaren lol] and asking if they still had stops to make?! Nico lad, no, you're lapping them, they havent magically gained track position on you. He seems to really struggle to read a race, something Lewis can do really well.

One other thing to mention, after being a bit unsure about them at first i now love the titanium skid blocks which as brought sparks back to F1, looked stunning under the lights and added something else when you got a massive shower as two cars hit the brakes trying to get passed each other.

They do serve a purpose though, they are safer than the old skid plates as they dont leave heavy chunks of metal around the track, that can cause punctures etc

I thought it looked a bit over-done at Bahrain.

Is that just due to the bumpy and rough nature of the track surface though? Only really saw them when doing ridiculous speeds and into t8/9? When theres a big bump.

Definitely looks cool imo. It also shows just how low the cars actually sit.

Trying to tell someone in work that his subaru Impreza was much higher (seating position) than an f1 car was hard work. Now he's been made to look like a right bellend.

You only really got the big showers when they went off line. Just added a nice bit of drama to an overtake, like when Rosberg and Vettel were battling just as Lewis came out in front of them, looked mental!
