Work pay for my University course. moving would only put me in a worse situation elsewhere until I finish Uni.
I have all intentions to move once I finish

thats not true john, its completely different around here then up north, i have seen the houses prices in newcastle etc and it makes me sick how cheap it is!
We've been over all these fantasies before. Everything is relative.
A shit house in a shit area that has no jobs will be cheap, no matter its size. A nice house in the town centre were there are well paid jobs will be expensive.
That's the same in London as it is in Newcastle as it is in Glasgow.

Give over mate. I've seen plenty of nice places in Reading for cheap. Reading seems a lot cheaper than this way. I've been tempted a few times but don't want to work / live in Reading as I spent 4 years there at uni and got bored of it.

Fucking lol, yeah you go live in that area mate. I'd rather stay at home than live there and be surrounded by crackheads and muslims

Nah, not for 1Mill for a 1 bed flat it doesn't. Anybody that buys one of them is a Mug. You could get a nice Country house for that 30 mins outside of London for half the price, use the other half a mill to spunk on the rich life and travel back and forth

people who buy 1 bed flats in london are bankers on massive wages that use it just for sleeping in during the week and go home to their manor house at weekends.
you seriously think someone would buy an overpriced 1 bed flat to live/have a family in?
also, commuting into london is an absolute cunt every day, no matter what time it is.

Depends on the job but usually salaries are only 5% higher (London Weighting), which makes naff all difference when house prices tend to be 800-900%+ more expensive in the city. Hence why a lot of people rent in the city or live outside and commute.

are you kidding me? so a house in newcastle which costs 50k will cost around 500k in this area, do you think the wage is ten times more down here? we are talking about a few K a year more in wages but nearly ten times the house price in most instances.

What I'm getting at is it is not as simplistic as saying 'I can buy a 15 bedroom house up North for a fiver'. If it were as simple as that everyone would move up North.
Wages fluctuate and the area the house is in dictates most. You can find houses for 100 grand in most places and you can find houses for several millions of pounds. London exempt from most things.
