Thats a right arse of a bit of hand to get hurt on, ninjas use that bit to take a man down. Seen it on sky tv.

I've had similar injuries and they do hurt a hell of a lot

Spontaneus update!
Rather than wait for my mates workshop to become free and doing it all in one go, I decided to remove panels I can and do them off the car one by one, then finish off the rest at his place.
Wheel arch moulding off

Nice pile of dirt came out the arch

Looks awesome

Arch off

Ready to wrap

Done!

Snorkel rested in place

A defender should have dents.
Looks great Steve. Best thing is you can drive round in a Defender with random panels wrapped in a different colour and no-one will even notice.
Also, I love all the hard men on here commenting about Steve's cut. Looked a nasty one to me. Healed well though.

I was behind a brand new Defender at the weekend and where it was riveted on the back panel (where the lights go) it was dented

Got all sorts of stuff starting to collect

New hinge pin kit for the air vent flaps on the front
Rivnut gun
Fibreglass to repair a couple of holes on the passenger door frame
New door hinge kit, no idea why ones a different colour, will be painted anyway
Paint touch up, to find a colour close to the vinyl to paint bits like the hinges. This one is pretty close - BMW Sparkling Graphite
Spat clips for the flexible wheel arches

Tonights little task was to remove the air cleaner and hoses, and waterproof it all, as you will see its not exactly waterproof from the factory
Heres all the bits

oh and this, I guess its not very waterproof anymore

First up was to waterproof the join between the plastic housing that sits on the rear of the wing, Sikaflex was used through out all this.

Then attached that piece on
Then sealed the plastic piece that push fits into the back of that

The two bits attached on

Sealed up the rubbish water drain valve here

And here

Applied a smear to the crimp join around the end of the can, mine looked fairly tight but just a precaution
Then sealed the snorkel to the wing

Should be fairly water tight
