Changed the back springs for 400lb ones doesn't squat as much at all.

I would lower rear too.

Cars that are higher on the rear feel funny to drive and back end feels very light under heavy breaking.

Needs it to do 1/4 however like that at the back. It's not actually that high really. 195/45/15s make it look worse. Front needs about an inch lower though

have to take the back box off to get the air gun at the shocker on the passenger side. typically the clamp snapped. smart. my mate had a another though so luckily i "borrowed" it for now.

suspension off.

interestingly only had 130lb springs in the rear. that wont have been helping things at all.

they are an inch shorter the new springs. not to worry.

car still sits higher even though the adjusters are seized. tried to free them off, no such luck.

front needs to come down maybe an inch, but i need to fire the other mo's with the r888s on before i work out where to lower it down to.

sounds better with no back box honest.

fitted the shiny wing bolts

operation done.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPAPo_TwxS4&feature=plcp

then set about removing an engine from a prelude to be fitted into my mates other prelude. no pics of that yet.

i definitely need to do a re-furb on one set of the mo's. the ones that are on the back that match the ones with the r888s on are spot on its the other 4 i have. i was tempted to do them white oddly

went to a classic car show. below are some of the pics i took. wasnt spedifically classic cars which was good. also was an auto test type event on the grass which my mate took part in.

claimed original paint work. was exceptionally clean although shame it was an 8v.

cant remember the last time i seen an xr2 on the road.

sponsored by demon tweeks i think

very cool cars

followed that into the place. picture doesnt really do its size justice. on a b road, that thing was extremely wide and long!

205 rallye. very nice.

dish on those wheels was quite mad

seriously mint fiesta rs turbo. was for sale for £2700 i think. bargain for its condition.

autotest was quite amusing with the gt4 on it.

sadly it decided to chuck it down after lunchtime.

everyone with a pass got a free coaster made from slate when you handed the pass back in. quite a nice touch, been using it since i got home to keep cups of tea on.

Some of the best cars I've seen there. Even things like the xr2 were just cool. It's a shame it started to rain as there was so much more id have liked to look at closer and take pics of. Think I'm going to save up for a better camera as well for car shows next year. Really enjoyed the stuff I've been up to the last few weeks. Steve's black nova is very cool yeah. He goes all over in it.

Next month I think I'm doing some Tarmac course thing for a day. Then end of month is local 1/4 mile last one of the year then time to make a winter plan for corsa I think.

Looking at doing it in the next couple of weeks as I'm going to have a blast at an autosolo thing through cones etc. might also fire a hydro handbrake on as well although my pic request thread hasn't had any replies to it yet lol.

Shouldn't you be keeping the line lock, if your putting a hydro handbrake on !?!?!?
This can then be used direct into the system on the back disc's locking the flow to the front!!
Front off peddle, back off handbrake

todays extremely exciting task. remove the central locking solenoid and associated wiring from the bootlid.

bit less wiring to worry about now, will help with the bhp/tonne as well.

had a voltage issue lately, checked the earths and the gearbox one was looking dodgy so removed it was stripped off and cleaned up. hopefully will work better, if not need to investigate alternator and battery. more than likely just the painted gearbox casing.

havent adjusted them in years but the fronts work fine still. even with road muck etc and salt from winter the rusty stuff adjusted fine.

its gone down about 10mm roughly which wont be far off being about the right height.

forget sometimes some of the stuff i have in boxes that ive never fitted so dug out the pedal box and started to clean it up and paint bits of it ready to fit it next month hopefully.

smart.
