Favourite of mine but the character was so drawn in to the story as a bridge it was daft.
Mostly agree. Very drawn out, like the first.

CGI for Smaug was insane, though. Some of the best I've ever seen.

Curious who you think is played by Emile Hirsch, though? Bard (Luke Evans)?
Edit: Scratch that, guess you're on about Orlando Bloom, hence the bridge comment. Do kind of see the similarity between the two.
What's with Legolas' eyes btw? Seem much lighter than in LOTR.

Agree with Legolas, not needed at all. Weird eyes, weird face but still pulling that annoying looking into the distance face

Les Miserables -7/10

Bloody hell it's long! Epic story and well made, I don't think some of the songs fitted the English language as they didn't sound right. I don't think it would have harmed the film to be shorter as well. I dare say it would make a good non musical period film either

Cloud Atlas - 7/10

Visually I would give it 9.5/10 and the different characters the ensemble cast played was very clever, especially women playing men and vice versa.

Overall I don't think the stories tied together and it felt like lots of different stories. One for repeat viewings I think.

Watched Pacific Rim again today, still fucking love it. Just visually amazing. Very happy there will be another, supposedly a prequel.

Empire of the sun 6/10.

Christian Bale is fantastic in this but the fipm itself isn't exactly amazing.

The Hobbit : The Desolation of Smaug - 7/10

I enjoyed it, but not as much as the first. Bit too long as well, I thought it was going to finish when Bilbo went down to see Smaug. Interesting that it is shorter than the first, this didn't seem to flow as well.

I still don't see how the battle of the 5 armies and the walk home can fill a third film!
