thats the 1 thing above all that really stands out from the D40, I used to have to +++saturation in photoshop on most pics I took with it,
The D200 doesnt need and saturation increase at all, those skate park ones are pretty much off the cam, only a bit of cropping and some vignette have been done

went for a walk down the canal today and took the camera with me
didnt get many good shots and the half decent ones below werent great.
i seem to find it difficult to steady myself when ive got my 300mm lense on the camera

Firstly, apologies for the size, Fotki is a bit pooh - might have to consider hosting somewhere else.
I've been doing some more practising - I've yet to get outside, or indeed out of the living room yet as the weather has been shit when I've pencilled in sometime around Uni work. Missed some proper crisp mornings.
Anyway, most of these were took on a tripod, with a 2 second timer so as not to shake the camera as I was using no flash. I tried to get what the eye can see as best as possible with 'M' (manual) mode.
This is with a flash in auto.
This was a bit dark.
Pretty much spot on.
This was achieved with manual focus - auto focus got the bow in focus.
I like this one because of the 'glare' from the bulb.
Auto-focus then manual-focus.
Rest of the pics from the session - you can see the polar bear ones where I was trying to get what the eye can see, it wasn't so successful. The camera made them really white, and they were more yellow because of the bulbs, looks as if the bulbs are LED, not tungsten:

If you go in your settings on fotki you can change the sizes Near the logo top left click on Go To and then account settings near the bottom, mines 750x750.
on the polar bears have a play about with your white balance, should sort it.

Today I went biking with dad and decided to take my camera. First time I've been outside with it properly.
EDIT: Fotki is such a pain, either too big or too small
Anyway, there are what I think are my favourite shots - takes some getting used to shooting action and following the action to make it clear etc.
