Apparently we dropped interest. Perhaps someone else on the horizon

I wonder if this is another example. No way would we lose the deal over a couple of mill
Ed was over in Barcelona negotiating. We were 100% interested.
LVG made a point in saying we are always made to pay premium for players and then sell our players for cheap. This was aimed at the DDG deal, but if this is the way he is thinking then I think it's completely plausible that we argued over a few mill.

Perhaps LVG fancies playing up front himself

Also Ian Ladyman

Also, Guillem Ballague clearly knows as much as the bloke that once went to a gig at Old Trafford and over heard some guys talking about who Man City will be signing.

The interest was dropped when Chelsea coughed up the right cash seemingly

Hope this means we turn our attention to some centre backs.

His fucking pace Pedro most certainly isn't slow, but that is a laughable reason. ADM was rapid but that got him nowhere with LvG's positional changes.

Reports now that they've launched a bid for Saido Mane He did quite well for Southampton, but he'll more than likely cost more than Pedro and isn't half the player Faster though.

Saido Mane
Ed Woodward is a hero
He must have been watching our 'transfer committee' thinking "Yeah, they look like they know what they're doing"

He did look decent indeed, and has a PL record to his name But going from Pedro to Mane will have fans spewing. They need a big name to replace ADM.

Dont need a big anything, just players that are going to play well and fit into the system.
Fergie had years of success without galactico style signings
Both big name signings last season were probably the worst players in the team

He will do a job at United but as stated, he's no pedro!
If we bring in Mane and then a very good striker I'll be content. If it's just Mane it'll be a huge let down.

In case you haven't noticed, Steve, Fergie is gone. Along with him went United's principles, stature and attitude. Nobody fears this team, and two very very average performances after spending yet another outrageous amount of money makes me believe that LVG isn't the man for the job.
Having said that, it's far too early to tell. But didn't LVG have the opportunity to renew DDG's contract last year, but chose not to because he was unsure he was the man for the job?

From what I have read ddg has been planning this move for 3 years and has declined all offers of contracts he had previously been offered.

I also think so far this window, our net spend taking into account the wages, and outgoing players is practically nil

As of a couple.of days ago your net spend was 20odd million according to talksport.
Without really buying anyone you needed.
